Somerville Ecovillage -
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Survey
Please do it today!
This survey will
take between 1 to 2 minutes to complete.....
Overview.....
In line with the year of action 2005 we
are now ready to kick off the Somerville Community Supported Agriculture
Scheme. We are now in the process of doing some planning and would like some
input and feedback from you so that we can set it up in line with what you
would like.
We are going to get infrastructure on
the ground in the next couple of weeks as we would like to see the water
supply which we can obtain for the driest time of the year – which is of
course now. During this time we will be putting in a green manure crop with
the aim of improving the area (land surrounding Walnut Cottage) ready for putting food into the ground. The
aim is to set up an area initially of approximately 1 acre. We may also
include produce of the Orchard as part of the CSA.
It is expected that food will start to
be planted towards the end of April with food being available to members
towards the middle of June. Aim is to have drop off points in two locations
down the hill to make it easy for as many people as possible to become part
of the scheme regardless of where you live.
The basis will be financial contribution
with some hours of work. If you can not do any work hours then the cost will
be higher. If you are prepared to pick your own, or do more hours than the
quota - then the cost will be less. Hopefully the scheme will be flexible
enough to be able to meet most peoples needs while at the same time be
viable.
We are looking for
persons with passion that would love to be involved in the establishment
and ongoing operations of our CSA. If this idea inspires you , if this
idea excites you then I invite you to give me a call! We are looking for
a passionate core team to take this up and run with it.
Could you please take the time to
complete this simple survey so that we can provide to you the best possible
CSA we can.
